Established in 1984-85, the VOC Agricultural College and Research Institute (VOC AC&RI), Killikulam, is the third constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), located in Thoothukudi district. Upgraded to an Agricultural College and Research Institute in 1989, it began offering postgraduate programs by 1990. VOC AC&RI focuses on agricultural education, research, and extension tailored to southern Tamil Nadu’s agro-climatic needs. Renowned for academic quality and research in crop improvement, water management, and soil health, it actively supports local farmers through training and advisory services. VOC AC&RI has received TNAU's “Best College” award multiple times.
